lyrics
This is an apology to people I’ve neglected,
I didn’t ever mean to make you feel disrespected,
You know who you are, here’s my sorry, accept it,
Or don’t, just know that in the song truth’s reflected,
I never intended to make you feel rejected,
Maybe it’s too late now, I’ve already wrecked it,
But wait, here’s what I’ve got to say, until you’ve checked it,
Don’t get confused and start with some next ish,
Off the soap box, don’t abuse and complex it,
The situation’s simple, let me take the case and rest it,
You know I’ve got some stuff I need to get of my chest…
There are so many things I really need to say,
Some personal debts that I have yet to pay,
Some demons in my mind that I have yet to slay,
There’s no way of progressing, without digressing,
You can’t raise up weighed down by regretting,
So I count my blessings, I renounce the stressing,
Swear I’m going to do my very best to stop messing,
Around with my time, stay profound with the rhymes,
Avoid the emotional and personal crimes,
You can hear it in my lines, I’m maturing over time,
Like a fine red wine, yet to reach my prime,
Some grapes made the grade, some got left behind,
This goes out to those I just defined.
My behaviour’s unacceptable sometimes, I know it,
It’s almost regrettable, all the times I blow it,
But regret is pointless, this I also know,
It’s for those I do and don’t see, this remorse I show.
This is an apology for those I know no more,
Ex-girlfriends who should know they were no w***es,
Though I might have said you were, ‘cause I was so sore,
Or called you posh b****es, ‘cause I felt so poor,
Like a peasant shown what it is to eat pheasant,
Then reduced to former status, a feeling so unpleasant,
No the anger hasn’t left me yet, the hate is always present,
It just depends upon to which level I express it,
You might have found the button and you knew how to press it,
But once you switch the mechanism, I’m bound to wreck it,
Self-destruct mode, I turn cold and goad, I don’t give a chuff,
It’s like a mould that grows,
Insidious, my family have seen it too, it’s hideous,
My friends have borne the brunt as well,
It borders on ridiculous,
Acting like a chump from hell, I’ve made some of them sick of this,
Sometimes it’s aggression, sometimes overly meticulous,
Fun times wrecked by me,
Acting like a prick and cussing chicks,
Saying they’re b****es, making fuss,
And nearly breaking us apart,
Back to the start again, I say,
Apologies to those I left behind,
Thanks to those who stayed.
